As expected, yesterday evening was very quiet except for the rain! The site was shut by 6pm but the owner kindly left the loo and showers open for us if we wanted them. The dogs were let loose on the hill and had a whale of a time amongst the trees running here and there. We had had our dinner by 6.30pm and settled for the evening. The rain didn’t let up for most of the evening and, unfortunately, the car park has large trees on all sides so we couldn’t escape the drip, drip of the rain on the roof all night as well as the drip, drip from the trees. Managed to sleep reasonably well but not as soundly as usual. Decided we would have breakfast at the Cafe before we left and whilst eating, a very large articulated lorry turned up with a delivery of more timber and components for the Sled run they were building way up on the hillside. This meant we had to move the Moho as it was in their way, but we did manage to finish our breakfast without having to rush, and then it was off to the next destination.
We arrived at our next venue, Llandudno junction, around 11.30am as it was only 30 minutes drive from where we camped last night. Unfortunately we were a bit earlier than the owner would have liked but we were fortunate that no other units were on site. Very easy drive along the A470 and we passed through some very nice villages. Llanrwst – where there was a lovely stone bridge over the river, Pentrefelin and finally Glan Conwy before arriving at Llandudno Junction. The Camping & Caravan Club Certificated site we selected is very convenient as it is only 1/2 a mile from the main A55 North Wales Expressway but still in a rural spot. The views from the site are very nice and we plan to have a look around either today or tomorrow. We will probably be here for a couple of nights and make our way again on Friday morning.
